Love to Sing?
How to Join Rock My Soul
Rock My Soul welcomes new members to join our spirited singing community!
Curious? Interested singers are invited to join our open rehearsals on February 3rd and February 10th, 2026.
We welcome anyone who loves to sing and can hold a pitch. No formal audition is required, and the ability to read music is not necessary.
Our repertoire is based in American roots music and spans generations and genres, including early gospel, blues, rock, soul, civil rights anthems, and Spirituals. Rock My Soul performs 5–8 concerts each year, including our much-loved Christmas concerts.
As part of our mission, we offer free, quality performances at institutional homes and facilities, sharing music as a source of joy and uplifting.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7:00–9:00 PM
Location: Top floor of First Parish Federated Church
150 Main Street, South Berwick, ME 03908
To join, contact ProjectMusicWorks at info@projectmusicworks.org for more information.
Rock My Soul is part of ProjectMusicWorks, a nonprofit arts and cultural organization whose mission is:
“…to bring diverse communities and individuals together through life affirming gospel music. Through performance, charitable outreach, and other community building activities, we seek to uplift, enrich, and educate.”
Through our talents, hopes, ideas, and actions, we strive to foster a sense of connection through music. And roots and gospel music in particular has a way of reaching down deep and touching souls the way no other music can. It heals. It unites. It bridges divides. And, as our country’s history has shown, it has the power to transform society for the better. In our small way, we hope to work toward unity, equality, respect and justice for all, one song at a time. That is why, as our vision states:
“…We envision a world transformed by the healing power of song, where hearts are one, where souls are at peace, where spirits are uplifted and prejudices cease.”
We are not a religious organization, but an arts and cultural organization. We come from many walks of life and from many faith backgrounds (or, in some cases, none whatsoever).
We are nondenominational and multi faith. We believe we learn from one another and become richer for it. And we share a love for the joy, hope, and belief in the triumph of the spirit that our music celebrates.
The pages that follow contain information to help you get acclimated and understand more about how things in our group work. If you have any questions, please ask any Membership or Artistic Committee member. They’ll be glad to help.
Again, welcome!
